Death Note: Source:    Gen. records of Forrest G. Hester III.

Individual Note:
Forrest began his career by sweeping up Weidlocker's Feed Store in Spfld. Over the years, he built a prosperous grain brokerage business, with an office in the Wrigley Bldg in Springfield. He ran the whole business with several telephones, part-time secretarial help, and a letter-folding machine.
In 1925, at the time of Sina's father's death, they were living at 828 W. Lawrence Street, in Springfield.

"Grandpa was a genuine success story, having started in relative poverty. When I was young, he showed me his office and was proud of the amount of work he did in such a small space, buying and selling train car loads of grain. He had achieved one of the American ideals of the time - he bought a new Cadillac every year. I remember him as one of the most cheerful, "at peace" people I had known. Some of my favorite memories were Sundays. He would take us kids to Mello-Creme for buttercakes and doughnuts. When we got back to his house Grandma Hester had coffee ready and I'd drank "kiddy coffee" (hot water, cream and sugar) while we ate the "gooey cakes." He'd sit back in the old rocker, with Grandma's ever-present antimacassars, with his feet on the hassock and smoke a cigar or pipe while we played." -wgh
