Individual Note: Historical Encyclopedia & History of Sangamon County, Pt. 2: Came to Loami, Illinois with his parents in 1844 and moved into Springfield in 1850. He taught school until 1852, when his father died, when he returned to Loami with his mother. Adna was the oldest fruit grower in the county and sold quart boxes of fruit in Springfield. He served in Co. I, 73rd Ill. Inf. during the Civil War.
