Burial: Place: Campbell Cemetery
Individual Note: According to Lucy Miller Dodd, his nickname was "Thomps." He lived in at least two homes near the South Fork and built a house on the site of the current Hall farmstead, where several children were born.
Thompson Hall's somewhat unusual first name may come from a neighbor in Virginia. Samuel Thompson owned a farm near Henry Hall in Pittsylvania County and witnessed some of Henry's land transactions. It is also possible Mr. Thompson was related to the Hall's but there is no evidence of that so far.
According to the 1860 & 1870 Sangamon Cty. census, Thompson had living with him at the farm, a G. W. Harper, who was 22 years old in 1860 and was born in Indiana (ca. 1838). Relationship?
